Hinton, Bower, Jones – NEW DATE

Ticket Price: $20.50, advance; $25.50, day of show

Harmony-driven acoustic trio Hinton, Bower, Jones has been performing across the Philadelphia region since 2012. An unknown “supergroup” in the same vein as Crosby, Stills & Nash or The Highwaymen, Hinton, Bower, Jones, or HBJ, is composed of three individually successful musicians: Brad Hinton, Daniel Bower and Hezekiah Jones. HBJ represents the possibilities of a truly synergistic musical endeavor.

This debut performance at Godfrey’s will feature the release of their new CD, “The Cambridge Sessions, Vol. 1.”

While known for showcasing each member’s distinctive songwriting style, HBJ also incorporates lovingly-arranged covers from influences like Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, Robert Hunter, John Prine, Chris Bathgate, M. Ward and more.

Listening to their arrangements, one can tell that each song chosen has a special significance to the band, as they are performed with honesty and sincerity that’s impossible to ignore. Every song filtered through the trio is broken down to its essentials – the essential meaning as well as the essential beauty- and reconstructed into something truly special.

The band has opened for Charlie Parr, Bob Beach, Phil D’Agostino and many more. They have performed at Robin & Beth Fest and at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Collectively, they have released more than 30 albums as members of various recording and touring acts.

Enjoy this selection from their recent World Cafe Live performance.
